Judi Setzer was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. In 1985 she graduated from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Asian Studies (concentration in Japanese language) and Classical Studies. She received her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2003. While in law school she served as President of the Christian Legal Society and received Book Awards in Criminal Law and Gift and Estate Tax. The years between undergrad and law school were spent devoting herself wholly to her family.
Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Judi has been in solo practice since 2004, focusing on adoptions, estate planning, probate, guardianship, and is a certified Circuit Court Mediator. She has finalized over 100 adoptions and considers this work to be the heart of her practice. Ms. Setzer views her law practice as a ministry and seeks to serve her clients by diligent study and the ethical practice of law by ministering to the poor, reconciling people in conflict, defending life and protecting the religious liberties of all people. She attended the 2009 National Litigation Academy of the Alliance Defense Fund to further this goal.
Her community involvement includes the Jacksonville Christian Legal Society Pro Bono Project at the City Rescue Mission and various ministries at her church.
Judi is a member in good standing of The Florida Bar (admitted May 2004). Former president and board member of the Jacksonville Christian Legal Society, she is incoming president of the Florida Coastal School of Law Alumni Board and president-elect for the Society for Financial Service Professionals. Her professional memberships include the Jacksonville Bar Association, and the National Christian Legal Society.
Outside the practice of law, she has a rigorous training schedule to prepare for various cycling events, culminating with Pyreness Multisport's Raid Alpine.
